Session 05: Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a key component of Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and treatment of alternative medicine which involves thin needles that are inserted into the body. Acupuncture techniques vary depending on the country. The method used in TCM is likely the most widespread method in the US.
Does Acupuncture work…Acupuncture is mainly used in the treatment of migraine, chronic/back pain and insomnia which are the common problems faced by people. A meta-analysis of acupuncture has found that this technique for chronic low back pain was cost-effective compared to its standard care. Ayurveda is one of the World holistic medicine of India which has been originated 3000 years ago. It is based on the theory that disease results from an imbalance of the body’s life force (prana). Healing energy into a patient effecting the positive results are the most controversial part in pseudoscience. Session 15: Homeopathy
Homeopathy is one of the alternative medicines which are the safe natural system of healing used to relieve symptoms and improve the overall metabolism. This medicine was developed more than 200 years in Germany, but it was given a scientific basis in the early 19th century. Homeopathy is the second medical treatment in the world according to WHO. It is a pseudoscience which has a belief that is incorrectly presented as scientific. About 10% of the Indian population depend on homeopathy for health care while CAM practitioners in UAE consists of 60% of Homeopaths.

Complementary therapies are used along with conventional medical treatments prescribed by the doctor. They can help people with diseases to feel better and may improve your quality of life. They may also help you to cope better with symptoms caused by the diseases or side effects caused by treatment. By mixing complementary therapies into conventional treatment plans, healthcare providers able to address the emotional, physical and spiritual needs of their patients. There are many different types of complementary therapy, including sensory, cognitive, expressive, physical, medical systems A growing number of people are turning to complementary therapies as providing a way to help, reduce side effects, manage symptoms, promote a sense of control and restore and vitality.

Naturopathic medicine is a system that is useful to heal the body by their own natural ways. It encloses many therapies including massage, herbs, acupuncture, exercise and Nutrional counselling. Food is the only medicine that is used in the naturopathy other than that no other medicaments are used. The goal is to treat the body that is spirit, body and mind. It also aims to heal the root cause of an illness and not just stop the symptoms. The naturopathic pharmaceutical had merged, and exhibit based naturopathic present day, sedate and standard, naturopathic medicines, shrewd and practices.
